They said I’d never run again.
I proved them wrong.

They said I’d never run again.
I proved them wrong.

Running didn’t start as something big.
It became something that helped me rebuild, step by step.

Turia Pitt's story
HAVE WE MET?

la Orana, I’m Turia Pitt

I’m a running coach, author, and Mum to two very energetic little boys (and have a spunky helicopter flying fella by my side). It’s my whanau that keep me grounded.

Back in 2011, while competing in a 100km ultra-marathon in the Australian outback, I was caught in a grassfire and sustained burns to 65% of my body.

I spent years recovering. It wasn’t quick, and it definitely wasn’t linear. There were long stretches where progress felt slow, and plenty of moments where things could have gone the other way.

But over time, I found my way back.

Since then, I’ve written best-selling books, coached more than 40,000 people through my programs, competed at the Ironman World Championships, and built a business and community I’m incredibly proud of.

These days, my work is focused on helping women feel strong, capable, and confident. Not by chasing perfection, but by starting where they are and showing up.

A lot of what I do now (running, coaching, speaking) fits around family life. School drop-offs, snack prep, and trying to squeeze in a run where I can.

Because real life isn’t perfect.

And that’s exactly the point.

What I learnt from that time

There was nothing impressive about that stage of my life.

It was slow.
It was frustrating.
And most days, it didn’t feel like progress at all.

But what I did learn is this:

You don’t need to be strong to start.
You just need something you can keep coming back to.

And for me, that became running.

Not in a big, dramatic way.
Just small steps. Repeating the basics.
Learning how to keep going, even when it felt hard.

That’s the part most people don’t see.

And it’s also the part most women struggle with now.

Not because they aren’t capable
but because they don’t have a clear place to start,
or a way to stay consistent once they do.

That’s what Move With Turia is built around.

Why I created Move with Turia

I didn’t build this for athletes.

I built it for women who are trying to figure it out as they go.

The ones starting from scratch.
The ones coming back after time off.
The ones who’ve tried before but couldn’t quite stick to it.

Because I know what it feels like to start small.
To question whether it’s even worth it.
To wonder if you’re doing it “right”.

Move With Turia isn’t about pushing harder or doing more.

It’s about having something that makes sense.
Something you can come back to.
Something that actually fits into your life.

What I help women do

→ Start running, even if they’ve never done it before

→ Build consistency without burning out

→ Follow simple, structured plans that remove guesswork

→ Work towards goals like 5km, 10km and beyond

→ Stay accountable with support along the way

You’re not alone in this

Over 40,000 women have gone through my programs and built their running in a way that works for them.

Different starting points. Different goals.
Same idea — just keep going.
